When faced with pain or pleasure, 

it is expected one will abstain from pain.

But, I propose, that pain can build.

It can act as a foundation or bricks in a wall,

pain can harden and fortify the soul.

More so than anything else I've observed.

So when faced with the choice

of pleasure or pain, remember

that a life without pain is hardly a life lived.
